Can You Get Std From A Finger

TROPIC THUNDER

By: Ben Stiller
Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Bill Hader, Nick Nolte, Jay Baruchel, Steve Coogan, Brandon Jackson , Matthew McConaughey, Tom Cruise
Genre: Comedy-insane (107 ')
Comment: There may be a masterpiece of cinema insane? Judging by the end of the last effort of Ben Stiller, Tropic Thunder when it receives the Oscar for best actor, yes. Judging by the quality of the film, too: maybe not for Best Picture, but Best Original Screenplay. Exaggerate? Perhaps, but it is not easy to laugh these days and it takes a liver ... marines to desecrate the most bloody and dirty war that America memories. Tropic Thunder is then concentrated to a bravura actor (Robert Downey Junior leads a stellar cast, with the hysterical Jack Black, the fake-tough and cynical boor Stiller and Tom Cruise, fat and bald) and anti-rhetorical: a film that hides under a deep sense those two hours of laughter fat, and a memory for reflection. It 's a Metafilm, about film criticism and therefore the same production studios, launching a trend that was already losing. The American flag stands on many films made in the USA is so trampled, almost scorned, without fear, because in reality the joke does not cover the true values \u200b\u200bof a nation, but the false gods of a country founded on the construction of myths scimmiottatura and heroism. This is why the plaintiff manufacturer of fables finds himself in a real war and the tragedy here is that simulated becomes pure fear, but also pure laughter, with histrionic approach. A stupid movie? No sir, and the brackets Pirandello ("I play someone who plays a" Robert Downey Junior says at one point) it proves the intelligence. A work that deserves to be seen and reviewed, to laugh, think and take revenge on the abuse of so many blockbusters that are capitalizing on tragedy. And the demented laughter back to the glories of Abrahams and Zucker.
Do not miss: Almost everything. We choose the soundtrack (which does not reveal) and the hilarious original trailer: wink that, unintentionally, Maccio Capatonda and his band (who has youtube, sa).

masterpiece WALL-E Get Smart

By: Andrew Stanton
Genre: Fantasy / Animation (96 ')
Comment: There is a frame of Wall-E very happy that we remember: the all-sweeping robot that flies in space and touches the stars (or maybe the saturnine circles), the primordial encounter with a previously unknown galaxy. It 's a moment that renews with a Spielberg masterpiece of almost 20 years ago and makes a new Wall-E ET: the perspective (human evil, or at least superficial, "different" good and capable of unexpected feelings) does not change over time, even if it is to change the proscenium. This time, to cultivate human relations Wall-E will be shot into space, facing the hardships that the mechanization of mass forces, in contrast to the purity of emotion. The film, compared to Pixar's previous works, we do not think of the most successful: however, this is our first analysis undergoes a strong influence from the classic film, which makes our view completely revised by the user of the film. We will explain better: the great courage of the leaders in dealing with Americans is a feature than an hour and a half without ever sketching a complete exchange of words. Robotti between noise, offset and often stereotyped dialogues of the human being to suffer a negative light crease seems to be just the rhythm, played, as expected, up comedy and physical speed of the characters. Still remains a compelling storyline that unfolds while the wings of its plot, not forget to throw a thought: there is the environmental message, evident and almost elementary in its explanation (but since this is the film directed primarily to children, can not be considered a fault) and there is also space for a charge very strong (although the most politically correct style as Pixar: The Simpsons and Shrek, so to speak, are something else) to the massification of society, with a particular prevalence of the problem "obesity" so dear to Americans. The final atomic then resembles the delirium of Svevo in "The Confessions of Zeno" just eliminating all the land be shared with inner purity, the same that leads man to return to a primordial state and to rediscover the extraordinary perfection of small things. Wall-E is a kind of mechanical consciousness of the man who has lost his soul, yet not always able to move (as he did, remaining in comparison, ET): the work still deserves an acclaim for its originality and marks a further step forward (the improvement over the "Monster" and "Robots" is evident) to an increasing presence of non-human in our cartoon. Moreover, the future calls, as well as the animation must meet: to present a message less rosy than usual, and sometimes even apocalyptic, does nothing but point out the impression of a film outside the box, but at the same time able to "classicizzare" new topoi ... even cartoon Wall-E, in short, it is still a classic, but it could soon become converts and harvest.
Do not miss: The original short called "Presto" much more behind the irreverent humor of the next feature, hides another accusation to the world of magic (or more generally human), offering a sword to defend in animals and animal.

Ikusa Otome Valkryie 2

Smart TOTAL CASINO
By: Peter Segal.
Starring: Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, The Rock, Alan Arkin, Terence Stamp, James Caan, Masi Oka, David Koechner.
Genre: Action-Comedy (100 ')
Comment: Perhaps the British would be enough to laugh at a comedy film with a very little ... Anglo-Saxon. After attempting to assign to Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean), a parody on the most famous secret agents of Her Majesty, Peter Segal relies on Steve Carell (definitely a cult film comedy in recent months) that part of Smart, 007 but messy too much and not enough fun. First catches the eye of the ability to combine smart so much damage, but also to design discrete projects: a hero is not the case for short, which probably makes it slightly more real than the story, the humor falls a little coarse, and has the great merit to break away from the tradition of "cops" (or gender roles) denied "in toto". That said the film mixes the action-movie (some of the explosions show a considerable investment of funds in a film that, in blissful ignorance, one might have thought not worthy of great sacrifices) to comedy, with only 3-4 really funny ideas (the very well known belly laughs), but an average level of well mixed tight-lipped smiles and lightheartedness of the film business. Another point of merit: Smart almost completely avoids the vulgarity that is so fashionable in this genre. Not to do the bigots, but for once the pair "ass-tits" is not synonymous with success in a work like this, a little rosy but we must open parenthesis.
Do not miss: The giant then bad becomes good. Hilarious. Able to stand on the already reasonable level of fauna of the characters.

DEVIL OF A TOTAL CASINO HELLBOY!

HELLBOY - THE GOLDEN ARMY
By: Guillermo Del Toro.
Starring: Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, Jeffrey Tambor, Doug Jones, John Hurt, James Dodd, Anna Walton, Luke Goss.
Genre: (110 ')
Comments: The devil-human Minghella grew serious. And not only in the transposition of the sequel (scheduled for 2011, the third installment of the trilogy) at chronologically, but also because, freed from the constraints imposed on the original storyline in the first episode, this second chapter of the fantastic adventures of Ron Perlman and company is able to exalt the visionary Guillermo Del Toro, a masterpiece that between pluririconosciuto (Pan's Labyrinth) and a work in progress (The Hobbit) it gives parenthesis fantasy anthology. This Hellboy is so much more convincing than the first, either because the plot does not purport to concede anything to the realism, the emotion that you want to send (not necessarily related to adrenaline action scenes, gaining from flowering tree giant in the city center, minute after minute of high-voltage poetry) Look for the greatest irony of the characters. It travels in space and mind, in a movie that plunders with style and good taste all European folk traditions, with a preference for the northern creatures (elves, gnomes, trolls and giants of stone). Hellboy is the fallible hero, a devil's body from potentially flawless, which opens the way to a feeling all human, and therefore null and void. Not a short masterpiece, but in summer very fertile soil of the cine-baloon, this work looks good at all. And that, believe it is a lot.
Do not miss the encounter with death, that re-designs and "notching" graphic trademark already the "Faun" Del Toro.

WANTED - Choose your destiny

WANTED
By: Timur Bekmambetov.
Starring: Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman, Thomas Kretschmann, Terence Stamp, Chris Pratt, Lorna Scott, Common, David O'Hara.
Genre: (110 ')
Comment: The film revelation falls in early summer, and proposes an action-movie hardly believable, but quite noticeable in its thick texture and very fast. Realism is another thing, but the way in which the director by the name problem Bekmambetov returns to prove to the public (after "The Warriors"), with a construction highly effective but that does not leave anything to chance or only to special effects, is admirable. The cast definitely helps, but with a lot of good things between the players in danger of falling into mere blockbuster was all there. The film rejects it, even if only in part, between the Matrix and Slevin, James McAvoy (too similar to Muccino order not to smile in the role of gunslinger, but this has to blame?) Has no time for a real character conversion, because the bullets fly (and curve, did you know?), people are dying and the mysterious fate of the frame gives birth missions missions. After all, this is not a film or psychological reflexive question in case of an invigorating, fast-paced and breathtaking, which confuses good and evil, revenge and fate, chance and calculation, and separates clearly the cold compassion. Upon arrival, unfasten your seat belt and you will be pleasantly surprised.
Do not miss the decisive final scene, shot with the innovative "bullet" in 70 runs''the protagonist's life and that if the parasites were fed until then.

An ordinary man - She Was a Quiet Man

an ordinary man
By: Frank Cappello.
Starring: Christian Slater, Elisha Cuthbert, William H. Macy, Sascha Knopf.
Genre: Drama (120 ').
Comment: Christian Slater simply amazing: the tough leaves and goes to the opposite extreme, a frustrated employee servile life and a job that satisfies (a little) and the portfolio (all) spirit. Operation that many consider to be excessive, that surprises for its splendid natural actor, definitely the best news of the film. That too, precisiamolo, lives with their own light: Some citations are evident (finalone all the space-time-labile within its borders to "Donnie Darko"), for the rest of the film innovative film language, bringing everything to the extreme, to ' exaggeration of verbs, situations and conflicts. Three characteristics that may soon elect him as a cult, although unlike the kind will be appreciated outside of the niche. The framing and mounting games reflect a sick psychology, in a sick world, with thoughts (and desires) patients. You do not save anyone in the first part, while love (im) possible for the beautiful model became paraplegic redeems the condition dell'impiegatucolo abused. But beware, because here is the fun part: Slater does not pass on the side of power, maintains its innocence, and with it, their insecurities. Nothing is trivial, all of the excessive: a desk study and the desired formula (the accepted therefore paradoxical), which works great.
Do not miss some shots, or mixed with cartoon hallucinatory visions, the iceberg of a continuous attempt to dazzle with bold juxtapositions. A "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (very) miniature.

Revelation beginning of 2008: THE GREAT JUNO

JUNO
By: Jason Reitman.
Starring: Ellen Page, Michael Cera, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman.
Genre: Comedy (92 ')
Comment: If you want to fill her mouth with fine phrases about abortion, and staining with politics and the election campaign (true, Giuliano Ferrara?) Also this little gem, a revelation at the Oscars 2008 , please let her also, but you then go for credible claims. Why Juno deserves everything, except the vulgar exploitation. Jason Reitman had us convinced from "Thank You for Smoking" and also in the history of the young, dissolute and nice rebellious 16 year old Juno (pregnant for a boring afternoon, enlivened with best friend) keeps the guidelines of a cheeky director, addressing serious themes with lightness, without ever falling into banality or, worse, ridicule. The youth slang dominates the film, so that the dialogue (almost in a parallel dimension to real life) closely resemble the style of verbal "Clockwork Orange" (but, mind you, remains the only common point of gradient). Juno is the new Little Miss Sunshine, a film that deals with the daily newspaper with cynicism, struggling to condemn (the only villain is the husband of the foster family, and here we take some reservations), but not short on sympathy. Naive and rebellion, stretched between the desire to grow and that of a freedom bound by a son in her lap. Abortion is an issue only touched upon, again without judgments. A choice that we appreciate: sometimes best to leave the moralizing aside, better to grant a public entertainment but also reflected a bit 'of free will. Given that the director (with tops-only flashback sequence and near misses, as delicate as the whole movie) often steals the show from the content ...
Do not miss: The soundtrack and opening theme. The CD of the film in particular depopulated already in the U.S..

How Long Do I Have To Apply For Unemployment

BACK: NOT JUST FILM EMERGES WITH TIM BURTON

SWEENEY TODD - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

By: Tim Burton
Starring: Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Sacha Baron Cohen
Genre: Musical (116 ')
Comment: The director who knows how to dream more (and to dream) in Hollywood, probably the only one so profoundly unable to link the dream images and situations verosomiglianza the feelings and the human psyche (without weigh recherche ever do this), signed in blood on his latest masterpiece. For Sweeney Todd, history (true, albeit fictionalized 150 years of legend), Tim Burton plays it safe, relying on the "little brother" Johnny Depp, the most trasformistica icon of world cinema, and his partner-witch Bonham Carter, who many wanted associated with early-stage to a movie far more Shakespearean, and instead he found the role of witch (in various shades) that it, damn good idea, shot. But Burton is also, and above all, an innovator, one that takes the genre, he respects the way down, yet it leads to extreme consequences, finding poetry in the colors, static poses and dynamic, in accompanying sounds, even before that in "verses sung by its protagonists" (aspect that, to understand, but made famous US-made prototype of the musical, "Singing in the rain"). Waiver of the trust Danny Elfmann behind the score, Burton's good, but does not lose a comma of his genius, giving sets made in Italy (awarded by the Academy) and transitions space-time thrill For two hours the film sticks to the chair, building and in parallel with a dose of wise known chef, tableau vivant (paintings as cornerstones of this great fresco) and camera movements learned and never dull. The shape of the contents on the form and content, without a moment of weakness. "Sweeney Todd" film is perhaps the most daring, more subversive of Tim Burton, which is more than a simple certificate of origin: the most bloody of "Batman Returns" and "Sleepy Hollow", the most Gothic of "Corpse Bride" (which also follows the main traits of the musical), the bloodiest of "Edward Scissorhands" yet even more poetic. Made with a metric of grief and revenge, irony and noir death: Johnny Depp in makeup recalls the boy-robot who launched in 1990, but has lost its innocence. Because at the end of "Sweeney Todd" is just that: the epitaph of Innocence (also a child, eventually, will arm razor), a London ever so dark, where the suburb overlooking the monument (Not is part of a one-time Big Ben, absolute temptation for other directors) and the desperation on the ritual. A perfect film, which combines short jugular severed, blood gushing and lyrical, emotional but also increasing overall balance. Until that final tribute is the best Shakespeare, that of "Romeo and Juliet." A lesson for many "registucoli" (the last Tarantino or Eli Roth follower), which often stained with red directed only to "pure" (so to speak) of the horrid taste. One last detail: Sylvester Stallone in his career he won an Oscar, Tim Burton (as a director or film produced at least) no: Hollywood and they say they will be ...
Do not miss: The investigation into the dregs of London, within ten seconds only, fascinating, dips, involving: a roundup lightning in the ganglia of suburbia, topped by a nervous-off music ... Goose bumps.
